For Immediate Release 15th June, 2002 TAIB TOWER ‘TOPS-OUT’ The final structural phase of TAIB Tower, the new headquarters of Bahrain -based investment bank TAIB Bank E.C., was observed in a traditional ‘topping-out’ ceremony today. Present were TAIB’s Board of Directors, as well as key figures associated with the building construction. At the ceremony, both Mr. Abdulrahman Al-Jeraisy, Chairman and Mr Iqbal Mamdani, CEO and Vice-Chairman, expressed gratitude for the project teams’ unwavering dedication toward meeting an aggressive December 2002 construction deadline. Mr Mamdani stated; "This ‘topping-out’ is a special milestone that brings us one step closer to the fruition of our dreams twenty-three years ago. We look forward to further reinforcing our long-term commitment to Bahrain with the completion of our own building." TAIB Tower is a 16-storey structure of predominantly double-glazed green glass, steel and stone finish precast wall panel construction. Its design, derived from a cylinder within a square tube concept, was developed by Ahmed Abubaker Janahi Architects. The main construction contractor is G.P. Zachariades (Overseas) Ltd. The tower is located in the heart of the Diplomatic Area, overlooking the Shaikh Isa Bin Salman Al-Khalif bridge to Muharraq, with a panoramic view of the Gulf. In addition to the Bank’s offices and floors available for lease, the tower will have integral car parking, day care centre and health club facilities, as well as a ground floor art gallery featuring work by young Bahraini artists.
