An
India-dedicated private equity fund we promoted as lead
foreign investor, successfully raised US$ 154 million.
The fund was set up in partnership with IL&FS
Investment Management Limited (IIML), one of India's
major private equity players. Co-investors from India
included several financial institutions, such as Life
Insurance Corporation of India and Punjab National Bank.
LIF is now fully
invested.

TAIB-JAIC Asian Balanced Private Equity Fund
Emerging markets, particularly Asia, will be the fastest growing regions in the world in the months and years to come. The recently launched TAIB-JAIC Asian Balanced Private Equity Fund (“Fund”) intends to capitalise on this high-growth region with a balanced regional portfolio.
The Fund, a Cayman Islands exempted limited liability company, provides a tax-efficient investment structure for GCC investors. It is sponsored by TAIB Bank B.S.C.(c), and Japan Asia Investment Company Ltd. (“JAIC”), one of Japan’s largest venture capital and private equity groups. JAIC, established in 1981, is headquartered in Tokyo and listed on JASDAQ. It is active in three geographical hubs – Japan, the U.S. and other parts of Asia – and is currently managing about US$ 1.2 billion of funds based on a committed capital basis.
